Fōr change.

We are a diverse group of individuals who come together to prepare our clients for change and create spaces that facilitate that process. Our spaces evolve over time, adapting to our client's needs, or to changes in the surrounding landscape.

We are guided by Fauzia Khanani, Principal and Founder. She started Fōz Design in 2011 with a single family house in Upstate New York. The practice has since evolved into Studio Fōr with projects spanning across the globe.

Fauzia received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of California Berkeley. Her previous career in social science research and public health continue to have a strong influence on the practice and has shaped how we approach design.

We believe in spaces that are more than a sum of their parts.

Listening to and nurturing clients is only the first step in a long process. The spaces that we create are the result of experience we have gained through positive and negative experiences, triumphs and failures. And most importantly, through vested time and effort.

In our book, change is the direct result of collaboration. Our clients become collaborators in our projects and our design partners bring their unique skills and expertise to bear.

We care about our work, our clients, and our team.

This care informs the projects we choose and the causes we champion. We listen to our clients, distilling their needs to create spaces that work. This regard often results in relationships that go deeper than the transactional.

We also seek change in the world and dedicate time and resources to making that change reality; be it to create unique spaces, or to support more inclusivity in our industry.
