Making the move from California to the East Coast to be closer to family, the client of our Pine Lane project purchased a ranch home on a 6.7 acre private lot in Saugerties, NY to serve as a holiday and weekend gathering place for themselves and their extended family. The project required special considerations including accessibility and design needs to accommodate the client’s daughter and aging parents. Renovations included a new in-law suite, new enlarged and repositioned windows, an expanded deck for entertaining, a designated space to install a future wheelchair lift, and an additional bathroom and recreation room at the basement level. ADA-compliant access will be incorporated throughout the design from a more spacious kitchen to an entry ramp leading into the home.
